Local Anti-Racism Initiatives Grants Program 2024-2026
One Victoria - Building Migrant Community Resilience Against Racism
One Victoria: Building Migrant Community Resilience Against Racism is a strategic, community-driven initiative led by Africare Community Services Inc. to strengthen resilience and empower African and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities across Victoria.
Over a two-year period, the project will combine practical tools, community education, and cultural exchange to promote inclusion, foster mutual respect, and actively combat racism.
Its core components include a multilingual digital reporting platform for recording and responding to racist incidents, engaging anti-racism workshops that equip participants with the skills and confidence to challenge discrimination, and a First Peoples cultural exchange program to build understanding, solidarity, and cultural safety through shared experiences.
By centring lived experiences and prioritising grassroots engagement, One Victoria aims to directly involve over 2,000 community members and reach more than 5,000 Victorians, contributing to a more inclusive, respectful, and equitable society.
